Darren Rovell describes his stupid gambling losses

If you’re a sports betting reporter, then you’re likely to have an insight into the world of gambling. After all, this is something you’re reporting on – so in theory you should know what you’re talking about. Yet that may not be the case for The Action Network’s Darren Rovell.

As it turns out, he loses just like everyone else. Only his losses are slightly more significant than those of the average gambler. On Saturday, March 12, Rovell posted a tweet on his official account announcing he has lost more than $17,000 on college basketball bets. His overall record is 139-203-2. This means that he has only won 41% of his bets.

Rovell took to Twitter to thank The Action Network app, which he says is holding him accountable. Through this, he was able to stop betting on NBA games. His college basketball betting business is what he aims to curtail.

Of course, he is more likely to be able to afford such gambling losses than the average bettor. It wasn’t until 2022 that he signed a new contract with the network. It’s his salary worth over $2 million more than two years, sources suggest.

Whether he will be able to abandon his intention to splash money on seemingly uninformed sports betting remains to be seen. Perhaps Rovell will update his Twitter followers on his progress with additional tweets.

Parents criticized for naming their daughter with a gambling theme!

It is not unusual for parents of a newborn child to have difficulty naming him. Often they will mull it over for hours, coming up with names that one parent likes and the other doesn’t, and so on. Others have a name in mind mid-pregnancy.

Of course, names are not always appreciated by others. This is usually true in the celebrity world – you only have to look at Applethe daughter of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay singer Chris Martin for example.

Most ordinary parents settle for more ordinary names. That’s not true for a couple who welcomed their daughter into the world on March 5. The proud father of the little girl posted a photo of her on his Instagram page and also announced her name – Serenity Roulette.

It wasn’t long before the online world launched an attack on the parents with the post shared on a Facebook group for extra torture. The child’s face was covered with an emoticon, but the person who posted it on Facebook labeled it “not so funny” underneath. Other members of the group did not believe the parents’ decision to name the baby after a game of chance.

One commented that it would not be allowed when he would register the name, and another supported the view. Another commenter posted his own amusing take on things, stating:

When you let it roll in the wheel of bad names, you just say “fuck it” and christen your child after the whole process instead.

There were even people who made up names of potential siblings for roulette. Coined names include Slotte Macheigne, BlackJack and Baccarat. One noted how the child was likely to “have a tough life ahead”, voicing his concern. Others were also quick to jump on the bandwagon and criticize the parents for their choice of name.

Tom Brady denies Rich Eisen’s claims that he is returning to the NFL

The last time we talked about Tom Brady was to highlight his participation in the Americas Cardroom poker game hosted by Ben Affleck. This event was organized in April 2020 to collect donations for a food bank amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the seven-time Super Bowl winner is back at the forefront of some news. The 45-year-old quarterback made the announcement earlier in 2023, confirming his intention to retire from the NFL. Although he made this decision on February 1, 2022, it didn’t take long for him to reverse his decision. So he returned for his 23rd season just 40 days later. Few people bet on it, but could they have another chance to do so as far as Brady is concerned this year?

NFL Network host Rich Eisen is the one stirring the pot this time. He began to hint that Brady may not have left the scene yet, hinting at a return to action for the Miami Dolphins. He provided a few details as to why this story could be verified, including the fact that Brady lives in Florida, where the Dolphins are located.

Still, Brady was quick to deny those rumors. The former player took to his Twitter account and informed anyone who may have been hoping for a comeback that it is not on his plate this time around. He noted that he just adopted a two-month-old kitten for his daughter, which keeps him busy enough.

Of course, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Brady could be part of the NFL again. After all, if he can come back from retirement in 40 days to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, citing “unfinished business” as the reason, anything is possible. Undoubtedly, various NFL teams will be quick to snap up the player and add him to their squad.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have their own “spicy” gamble

This is the Hollywood marriage many people said wouldn’t last. Michael Douglas, 78, married Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, in 2000. Most people assumed their age difference would be enough to end things. Yet they have consistently proved naysayers wrong by staying married for over two decades. Not only does the pair seem to have a close bond in general, but they also share an interest in golf.

However, there can be a lot more to their golf games. Douglas recently appeared on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” and talked about their rounds on the course. He mentioned this they have a unique stake, which is always in play when they start. Douglas commented:

“The rules are – I have to get it out if I don’t hit it past the ladies’ tees, which I do most of the time. But there have been times when we play alone and we have to give her a little show because we are competitive. But only when I play with my wife”.

Happy Catherine, perhaps? Who knows? Still, Douglas admitted he only lost the bet once a long time ago. Although the pledge may seem strange to some people, it is an example of the love and pleasure they feel while being with each other. Catherine supported Douglas’ story about their bet as well, but stressed that there had been a problem with the paparazzi before.
